This week was choppy. I would have been in profit if I kept to my original sizing but after 5 or 6 failed trades in a row I went half size and that’s the one that stuck.

I also had a lost opportunity when my position was closed do to short term volitility. There was the chance to jump back in on the 5 min but I wasn’t at my pc so couldn’t take it. Even with my half size position I would havve broken even so this week wasn’t a failure of the strategy, just that drawdowns like this are expected.

AUDUSD

A lot of failed trades here. I need to stop chasing and only get in at the end of an hour or as a crossup happens

Chop

Need to start using volitility contraction to navigate choppy areas. Wait for a few hours of small movement

For Next week

  • Try doing trades after a close above/below the 50 instead of as soon as it crosses (unless the bar is bigger than 1xATR - indicating the beginning of a trend).
  • Try using $5 stops regardless of stop size etc.
  • After two losses in the same place use trend lines to time next entry
  • At least 1xATR stop loss. Otherwise you get killed in the chop
